Police officer arrested with drugs to be dismissed

Police have decided to dismiss a female Police Officer who got arrested with drugs last July. 

In response to a question posed by a journalist in the Police media group, Police said that after investigation, the Polices' Disciplinary Board has decided to dismiss Aishath Shiyaza, 32, Dhilbahaaruge, ADh. Kum'burudhoo.

Under the operation, an additional individual was arrested alongside Shiyaza. 

In court, Police said that both Shiyaza and the man accompanying her tested positive for cocaine. They said that the two had been going to receive drugs when Police intercepted them. 

The two were arrested for drug abuse, possession and sale. 

Three rubber packets containing a substance suspected to be drugs, weighing 2g, and one pill of a banned drug were found in Shiyaza's bag, Police said in court.
