Maldivian students from 11 schools will be sent to China tomorrow as part of their "China Youth Exchange Program 2025".
The program will be held at China's Sichuan Province and will run from tomorrow until Friday.
The Education Ministry has said that the trip was organized by the Chinese Embassy upon request from the ministry. All arrangements and finances will be made by the Chinese Embassy.
As per the ministry, 12 students from 11 schools will be participating in the program, with 6 female students and 6 male students being sent.
Education Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu met with the students yesterday to discuss the trip.

Seven A' level students and five O' level students were chosen from various schools all over Maldives. The ministry has said that students will be taken to many places in Sichuan Province during their four day trip.
The ministry also said that the students will visit places such as museums, Chengdu Research Panda Base and partake in various cultural activities.
The ministry went on to say that the students will also get the chance to visit their Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, tea-making factory and the Tonga Group Experience Center, with the students getting the opportunity to see their work first-hand.

The ministry has stated that the students will get to see China's development, culture, education system and economic growth up close, along with:
- The chance to meet with students from other countries and strengthen bonds.
- Building cultural respect and increasing information and knowledge.
- The visit to the Panda Base will encourage students to adore wildlife and environment.
- Visiting places such as industrial establishments and urban planning halls will give students’ first-hand information regarding such places and facilitate their interest in various fields.
The ministry went on to say that visiting a green energy facility such as Tonga Group will give students valuable information about the importance of sustainable energy and developments in such fields and will inspire them to come up with innovative ideas.
