Saudi Arabia gifts Maldives 64,000 books

The books were gifted during a ceremony at the Islamic Center by Saudi Arabia Ambassador Yahya Hassan Alqahtani and Al-Imam University Director Dr. Solih bin Sulaiman Al-Araja and accepted by Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.

Saudi Arabia's Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (also known as the Al-Imam University) has gifted Maldives' Islam libraries 64,000 books.

The books were gifted during a ceremony at the Islamic Center by Saudi Arabia Ambassador Yahya Hassan Alqahtani and Al-Imam University Director Dr. Solih bin Sulaiman Al-Araja. 

Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed was the one to accept the books.

During the ceremony, Shaheem said that this symbolizes the relationship between the two nations.

Shaheem, while speaking on the close relationship between both governments, expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, their government and high ranking officials of the Saudi Arabian embassy.

As per the Islamic Ministry, the books will serve to help their aim of filling up Islamic libraries all over Maldives. The ministry also said that it will help in fulfilling President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's presidential pledge.
