Fahmy appointed to a ministerial-level post at President’s Office

Hussain Fahmy, who was dismissed from the post of Managing Director at STELCO yesterday, has been appointed today to a ministerial rank position at the President's Office. 

The President's Office said that Fahmy has been appointed as Principal Secretary to the President on Policy and Manifesto. 

Fahmy spent a career spanning 27 years at STELCO. He initially joined the company as an Account Assistant Trainee. He later pursued higher studies in the UK, returning to the company and working in various capacities in its Accounting Department. 

After 25 years of service at STELCO, Fahmy was appointed as the company's Managing Director in November 2023, soon after this administration took office. 

Privatization and Corporatization Board announced Fahmy's dismissal yesterday, with former MIFCO CEO Ahmed Shamah Rasheed being appointed to lead STELCO in his stead.
