The north side of the Bridge has reopened to traffic after being closed for five hours today to conduct a full-scale airport emergency exercise.

The section was closed from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM as part of efforts to test the Airport Emergency Plan, according to authorities.

Police confirmed that all temporary changes to traffic flow related to the exercise have now been lifted, and the bridge is once again fully open to public traffic.

The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) conducted the emergency drill to assess the preparedness of the airport's emergency response teams, as well as the readiness of hospitals in the Malé area.
