No drugs found at Drug Rehabilitation Centre

Police have said that they did not find any drugs during the operation carried out at the Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre in Himmafushi.

Police conducted an operation at the centre this morning based on intelligence indicating the presence of contraband held by some occupants.

After having searched the entire premises, Police sent a message to media stating that no items as indicated were found there. 

A statement regarding the operation released by the National Drug Agency (NDA) stated that the purpose of these operations is to ensure that drug rehabilitation centres nationwide remain drug-free and safe for recovery.

The statement said that similar operations will be conducted in the future as well.
