The Islamic Ministry has made it mandatory for private parties to finish building mosques two years after land acquisition.
As per the message sent by Deputy Minister Ali Hussain to their media group, private parties not starting or not completing mosque construction projects for years after they acquire the land causes inconvenience to the public in offering prayers.
And so, policies have been put into place in order to find solutions to the issue, as was said by Minister Hussain.
Within said policies, along with finishing construction within two years, construction of the mosque is to begin within six months, with the land being repossessed if it doesn't begin within six months.
Other policies include:
- No administrative duties to be conducted within the mosque.
- No storage of personal property.
- The mosque be handed over to the government after completion.
- Funding availability for construction of the mosque prior to the project or availability of a large portion of funding to be proven.
Private parties have in the past requested land from the Islamic Ministry in order to build mosques. The ministry has also signed with various parties regarding this in the past.
