MMA launches Thamweel FinLit Challenge with MVR 10,000 prize

Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has launched a national-level Thamweel FinLit Challenge, a quiz competition aimed at boosting financial literacy and raising awareness of Islamic finance among Maldivians.

The competition is open to young people aged 16 to 25, with applications closing at the end of this month.

The league-style tournament will feature six online rounds, in which teams of three to five members accumulate points on a leaderboard. The top five teams will progress to a live final round.

Questions will cover topics such as budgeting, safe use of digital financial tools, debt and credit management, and principles of Islamic finance.

The champion team will receive MVR 10,000, with MVR 7,000 for second place and MVR 5,000 for third.
