Request window for media funding increased

The request window for state funding for media organizations has increased.

The Youth Ministry initially set the deadline for tomorrow, with the ministry announcing that it has been changed to 7th October. The statement also said that the request can only be made through the online portal they introduced for this specific purpose.

The policy to provide financial aid via the state budget to registered private media was published on 19th August.

Extending financial aid to media organizations through the state budget is a presidential pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. This year's approved state budget had allocated for that as well. The amount set is 0.1 percent of the estimated budget's revenue.

The funding is only given to media organizations that fulfill certain criteria, along with the allocation of a certain amount of points as per the policy.
