It has been made known that none of the dollars that were stolen from the heist at Velana International Airport's (VIA) have been recovered even as almost two months have passed.
The suitcase with money worth USD 130,000 was stolen after two BML employees had been threatened.
The suitcase with the money was stolen while it was being transported to the dollar counter at the new Terminal 1. The suitcase contained dollars meant for issuance to local travelers headed abroad.
The masked robbers threatened the BML employees with knives and took the cash-filled suitcase from the walkway between the old terminal and the new terminal.
Upon Mihaaru News posing questions, the police's Media Official stated that there are no updates. However, sources have said that none of the stolen money has been recovered from those who have been arrested.

Four people having been arrested, along with three additional people having been arrested last month.
Arrested individuals in the dollar heist:
- Mazin Moosa, Reysham, L. Maavah
- Ahmed Raihan Naeem, M. Chorus
- Ibrahim Anoof, Alhivilaage, K. Guraidhoo
- Hussain Shahudh, Alhivilaage, K. Guraidhoo
- Abdul-Awwal Ibrahim AbuBakuru, 27, Binaa, GA. Vilin'gili
- Ahmed Mahid, 44, Eheevaage, Th. Vilufushi
- Ali Afzal, 21, Vashagulimaage, S. Hithadhoo

All aforementioned persons are being held in remand.
The speedboat that was used in the theft has been found by the police.
Police now have a total of seven people in custody until the end of trial in relation to this theft.
Police Media Official further said that travel bans have been placed on four persons. The investigation has so far involved the search of four vehicles, and 20 locations across Male' and other islands.
