The Ministry of Housing has awarded a contract to Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to construct 50 housing units in Raa atoll Dhuvaafaru.
The agreement was signed today during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to the island. Housing Minister Dr Abdulla Muththalib signed on behalf of the government, while HDC Managing Director Ali Zuhair signed on behalf of HDC.
Further details of the housing project have not yet been disclosed.
During the same visit, the President also handed over the project to establish water and sewerage systems in the reclaimed land of Dhuvaafaru to the Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC). The agreement was signed by Minister Muththalib and MWSC Managing Director Abdul Matheen Mohamed.
In addition, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) was awarded the contract to construct the Dhuvaafaru Sports Complex.
The agreement was signed by Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu and MACL Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef. The sports complex will include facilities for volleyball, handball, and netball.
