Upon drugs being found in an Indian individual's luggage on their arrival to Maldives, the individual stated that the luggage was not on their trolley and refused to take it into their possession.

Fasim Sahaf Odakunnath, 22, was arrested for two days and released yesterday on a court order which stated that it was their first time travelling to Maldives.

As per the order issued by Judge Ali Adam, the police officer who had secured the luggage stated that it was not on their trolley. The police office had not told the investigative party that the luggage was not opened from the Indian individual's key, with the court stating that the Indian individual did not get tested for drugs.

Along with that, the court order read that the police had not specified as to what visa the Indian individual had to enter Maldives.

The court order also stated that it is unclear as to the amount and type of drugs found at the hands of the accused.

It is a common sight in Maldives where drug traffickers refuse to take responsibility for their luggage and attempt to switch luggage.
