Officer arrested for obstructing police duties

A Police officer has been arrested for committing assault and obstructing police duties. 

The Police officer who was arrested is Mohamed Mausoom, 22, Lily Night, M. Kolhufushi. 

The Criminal Court placed Mausoom in remand in custody for two days. 

Details of Mausoom's offences are not known yet. It is also unclear if Police have taken any administrative action against him. 

Last week, another Police officer was arrested for forcing their way into a salon in Male', committing assault and damaging property. 

This officer, Ali Manik, 43, Asaree Villa, S. Hithadhoo, was placed on suspension without pay as he was arrested for a criminal offence.
