Male' got top services under Mayor Muizzu: Jaleel

Former Chief of Defense Force Moosa Ali Jaleel, who is running for Mayor of Male under PNC's ticket, stated last night that services that were requested by Male' residents were most proficiently given during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's time as Mayor of Male'.

During last night's ceremony to open Jaleel's campaign center, he said that in over 10 years, after the councils had been formed in 2011, the Mayors of Male' City Council had not been able to grant the requests of Male' residents.

Jaleel stated that the requests of Male' residents began being granted in 2021 when President Muizzu was elected as Mayor.

"It was only in 2021 that the requests of Male' residents were being granted. The municipal services of Male' City were at its height for two years and five months when President Muizzu was elected for Mayor with the most votes since," said Jaleel.

"He paid a series of visits to the houses of citizens. Meetings with citizens were held. He listened to citizens and checked up on them during those series of meetings. When he was Mayor, he met with every person who requested an appointment with him."

Jaleel also stated that during his time as Mayor, President Muizzu had solved many long-standing issues and helped many Maldivians overcome various difficulties.

Jaleel went on to say that he is running for Mayor of Male' by taking inspiration from President Muizzu's work as Mayor.

"I will be ready 24 hours of the day in order to serve you beloved citizens. I will carry out national service day and night so that the needs of citizens are met and to bring Male' City to happier and more peaceful times," said Jaleel.

As per Jaleel, he will be a servant to the citizens without discrimination based on political color, the hearts of Male' residents will be won over with love, compassion and kindness, with the services that are needed the most from citizens being fulfilled hand in hand with the government.

During the ceremony, PNC parliamentary group leader and Inguraidhoo MP Ibrahim Falah stated that even though there have been MDP Mayors of Male' in the past, there were no expected development that came about during their time. And so, he said that there were big changes that were brought about with President Muizzu being elected for Mayor of Male' by majority votes.
