Parking zone in front of Parliament closed

The parking zone in front of Parliament has now been closed. 

The parking zone was built on Dharumavantha School's previous grounds, with it being in use since 2020. It was one of the largest parking zones in Male' at the time.

It was developed to accommodate motorcycles and four-wheeled vehicles. The parking zone has 246 motorcycle slots and 12 slots for four-wheeled vehicles. However, the parking zone was closed off within this week.

Sources say that the parking zone was closed off in order to construct a new building for Majeediyya School.

Even though a parking zone was opened there, the Male' City Council said that the plot is under Majeediyya School.

The parking zone was initially built to solve parking difficulties near Velaanaage, as that area experiences parking difficulties.
