CSC seeks Director General for Health Protection Agency

Civil Service Commission (CSC) has today announced that applications are now open for the post of Director General at Health Protection Agency (HPA).

Civil Service Commission (CSC) has today announced that applications are now open for the post of Director General at Health Protection Agency (HPA). 

According to CSC's announcement, the deadline for application is Wednesday next week. 

The post comes with a monthly salary offer of MVR 21,884, along with an allowance of MVR 12,534 and attendance allowance of MVR 339, coming to a total income of MVR 41,876. 

The post became vacant following the retirement of Maimoona Abu Bakuru, who served in the post for nine years. 

Maimoona was appointed as Director General of HPA on November 17, 2016. Prior to this, she served in various positions at the Health Ministry. 

Requirements from applicants

- Must hold a PhD / Higher Professional Diploma in a related field, alongside four years experience in a related field. A minimum of two of these years must have been in management.

Or

- Must hold a Masters Degree / Advanced Professional Diploma in a related field, alongside eight years experience in a related field. A minimum of two of these years must have been in management. 

Responsibilities of the Director General

- Assessing public health programs, setting guidelines and policies, and ensuring compliance from agencies. 

- Leading prevention of imported communicable diseases and directing national control measures. 

- Liaising with foreign organizations on efforts to promote public health safety, and to conduct collaborative programs with such organizations.
