The Higher Education Ministry has introduced the "Kuri" portal, which is meant as a solution to the difficulties faced in releasing funds to students by the ministry.
The portal, which was made to digitalize and stabilize the services offered to students, was inaugurated today by Higher Education Minister Dr. Ali Haidar at the Dhivehi-Raajjeyge Adu's Seneco building.
The portal is as follows: https://kuri.gov.mv/.
At the ceremony, the minister said that the students face quite a bit of difficulty regarding government scholarships and loans given out for higher education.

While highlighting the delays in reaching decisions and the obstacles and disruption to education faced by students due to the frailty of the system, the minister said that Kuri is a system that will serve an important role in finding a solution to the financial obstacles faced by students.
"The government has given high priority in providing trustworthy and hasty educational services to students within the system that prioritizes their needs. The Kuri system will serve an important role in finding a solution to the financial obstacles faced by students," said Haidar.
"With this system, it will strengthen the documentation system and facilitate the release of funds without delay. Students can also use Kuri to see how far along the transaction of the funds are in real time. Along with that, Kuri will bring about an end to the long wait of whether students meet the requirements for scholarships and funding schemes."

The minister said that the government's biggest aim is to ensure no student loses an educational opportunity due to any sort of administrative delay or financial obstacles.
The minister also said that the Kuri system was started under the Maldives 2.0 digitalization initiative, an effort that began under the special initiative of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in digitalizing all state institutions.
