Two arrested for exploiting child in drug runs

Two individuals have been arrested in Male' for using a child to transport drugs between locations. 

According to the Police website, the two were arrested in an operation carried out last Sunday by the FCPD, Drug Enforcement and Counter Narcotics Intelligence units for exploiting a 16 year old minor in drug runs. 

The two arrested in relation to this case are Hassan Nuaz, 28 of M. Nazly Manzil, and Ahmed Naeem, 39, of V. Satellite. 

When presented in court for their remand hearings, each was placed in custody for 15 days. 

Police emphasized that special measures are enforced against child grooming and exploitation in gang crimes, drug offences, and sexual abuse. 

They said that they coordinate with relevant authorities to identify such offenders and enforce the toughest legal actions against them.
