Visit Maldives suspends 2ofus from ambassadorship

The famous Maldivian band "2ofus" has had their ambassadorship status temporarily suspended by Visit Maldives Corporation.

2ofus was made the ambassador of Visit Maldives last July.

Sources say that the ambassadorship was suspended last month, reason being due to the funding rumors that have been spreading, which have caused negative effects to Visit Maldives.

The band had five members when it was initially created.

Their guitarist Ahmed Shaheed (Shahyd Legacy) left the band last month due to allegations of fraud. Lead vocalist Mohamed Nasooh bin Nasruddin, Ahmed Jasheem and Mohamed Hisham left the band in the middle of last year.

The current band members are Adhuham and Abdulla Shamrooh.

As per Shaheed, the main reason he left 2ofus is because of a lack of financial transparency. He also said that he cannot stay on any longer as he was not being compensated as per his agreement.

Jasheem, Hisham and Nasooh also released statements as to why they left the band, citing accusations of a lack of compensation and a lack of financial transparency.

People have also highlighted issues such as the framework of the being a one-sided operation against the spirit of a band, a lack of respect and a lack of innovation.
