Air conditioning units at King Salman Mosque are once again broken, with MACL tasked this time with fixing them.
Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed stated yesterday that MACL, in collaboration with the ministry, has begun work on fixing the ACs at Salman Mosque.
The minister stated that the target is to resolve the issue ahead of the upcoming month of Ramadan.
The mosque has frequently faced issues with its air conditioning system, with several attempts made to resolve the issue. The ACs were fixed last year as well, but the issue re-emerged in a few months.
Within 6 months of the mosque having opened its doors in 2021, three of four AC units used in the two prayer floors of the mosque faced issues and a team of technicians from Turkiye arrived in Maldives to attend to the issue. At the time, the ministry said that there were no local technicians who could fix the issue.
Although the mosque has been in use for four years, it is yet to be officially inaugurated.
