Man who fell from Male' Hiyaa building on ventilator support

Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital has confirmed that the man who fell from the fifth floor of Male' Hiyaa 1 this morning is currently on ventilator support. 

Police received reports of the 60 year old falling from the Male' Hiyaa 1 building at around 6:50am today. 

An IGMH media official said that the man is receiving treatment in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit. 

Details of injuries sustained were not disclosed. Police are also yet to comment on the cause of the fall. 

Footage of the man being carried into an ambulance is circulating on social media. The footage shows bandages wrapped around the man's head and arm.
