RTL Ferry service to begin tomorrow in Faafu and Dhaalu Atolls

Ministry of Transport announced today that the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service is scheduled to begin tomorrow in F. Atoll and Dh. Atoll.

The Ministry stated that preparations are complete to officially launch the RTL ferry service in both F. Atoll and Dh. Atoll.

MTCC noted that travel will be free of charge for one week starting from tomorrow, and starting from the 25th of this month, travel will require the purchase of tickets. Tickets must be purchased through the RTL website or mobile application.

With the inclusion of these two atolls, the number of atolls providing RTL services will rise to 14.

The government has contracted MTCC to provide the RTL service. The project is being implemented by dividing it into three phases across six designated zones. Approximately 800 million Rufiyaa is being spent on this project.

This ferry service project was initiated in 2022.

The company informs that the objective of this project is to facilitate easy and affordable sea transportation for the citizens and to establish a system that is beneficial both economically and socially.
