Tarawih prayers have been arranged to be held in prisons for the first time, with Hafiz's having been assigned.
As per Correctional Services, arrangements have been made at the Maafushi Prison and Asseyri Prison for Tarawih prayers to be officially held.
They also said that sessions regarding the faith will be held for those who are carrying out their sentences and those who are being held in prison for criminal accusations, with the sessions being held during Ramadan.
Accordingly, sessions were held where information about the faith was disseminated as a way to welcome the month of Ramadan.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs also holds familiarity sessions surrounding the religion and to make the prisoners morally just individuals.
