The Housing Ministry has eased application requirements for flats under the government’s “Boahiyaavehikan Enmennah” housing scheme, specifically the “Aailee Boahiyaavehikan” category.

Under the scheme’s regulations, 7,900 flats are to be allocated in the Male' area. Of these, 2,400 units are reserved for special categories, including 500 flats set aside for individuals who were previously issued documents confirming allocation under the Veshifahi Male' and Hiyaa housing schemes but have yet to receive their flats.

In a post on X today, the Ministry said applicants who do not possess the original document confirming allocation under those schemes may submit alternative proof.

According to the ministry, applicants may provide documentation from a relevant authority confirming that a flat was allocated to them, or evidence that their name appears on an official list published by an agency stating the same.

Under the eligibility criteria for flat and land allocation, applicants must either be residents of Male' or have lived in the capital for at least 15 years.

The government has allocated 4,000 flats for Male' residents, 1,500 for non-residents living in Male' and 2,400 for special categories.

Applications for the flats will close at 11:59 pm on 17 April.
