Kuredhimaa Higun, between Bridge 2 and Bridge 3 connecting Hulhumale' Phase 1 and Phase 2, has been converted into a one-way street.
Housing Development Corporation (HDC) said the change was introduced to improve road safety, citing a high number of accidents in the area.
Under the new arrangement, the road can now only be used westbound.
Accidents in Hulhumale' have increased in recent months, prompting traffic management measures on several roads, including converting some streets to one-way routes.
HDC had also installed speed breakers in parts of Hulhumale' in an effort to curb accidents.
However, the speed breakers were later removed following public criticism.
