Twenty-four cases were forwarded to the Prosecutor General’s Office last year to press charges for violating domestic violence protection orders, police said.

According to statistics published on the police website, 99 cases involving breaches of protection orders were reported in 2025. A total of 38 individuals were arrested in connection with the cases.

A protection order is a court-issued directive intended to ensure the safety and security of a victim, particularly in situations where violence may be repeated.

The order sets out conditions requiring the alleged abuser to refrain from certain actions or to comply with specific requirements.

Police said ensuring a safe environment for victims of domestic violence remains a priority.

Authorities urged the public to report any violations of protection orders immediately.
