Equal opportunities for all islands is social justice: President

On this World Day of Social Justice, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that social justice means ensuring people across all islands of the Maldives have equitable access to opportunities, dignity and protection.

On this World Day of Social Justice, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that social justice means ensuring people across all islands of the Maldives have equitable access to opportunities, dignity and protection. 

The President's post on X further affirmed that Maldives remains committed to strengthening its social justice system. He highlighted efforts in this regard being currently taken by the government, including improved access to health care, establishing a reliable transport system and affordable housing. 

Further, the government aims to foster economic opportunities for dignified livelihood, he added. 

He stated that by investing in skills and education, the Maldives seeks to create a future of promise for every Maldivian. 

The World Day of Social Justice is marked annually on February 20 to promote social fairness and to encourage the countries of the world to work towards eradicating issues such as poverty, inequality and exclusion.
