Maldives Zakat House has announced that Fitr Zakat in staple grains will be accepted from Saturday onwards in the Male' area.
The scheduled dates for paying Fitr Zakat in grains are March 14 and 15, from 10am to 12pm. From March 16 to 18, zakat can be paid between 10pm to 12pm, and again between 1pm and 3pm.
Zakat collection will be at the CHSE Male' building.
Types of grain from which zakat can be paid are normal rice, Thailand white rice, Basmati rice, red rice and wheat flour.
Zakat House has also made arrangements this year for Fitr Zakat to be paid online via seven platforms.

In the first 15 days of Ramadan, MVR 5,482,171 was received as zakat payments. This is a 23 percent increase from the same period last year, where the figure stood at MVR 4,460,199.
