The staple grain that was received as Fitr Zakat this Ramadan is now being disbursed.
Staple grain began being accepted as Zakat last Saturday.
The Zakat House, under the purview of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, stated that the distribution of the grain as Zakat will be done from today until tomorrow via the hall of the Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Male'.
The grain will be distributed to those on the Poor and Needy Registry who reside in Male'.
Distribution times:
- Every day from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
- From 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
In the first 15 days of Ramadan this year, MVR 5,482,171 was given as Fitr Zakat.
This is a 23 percent increase from last year. The amount last year was MVR 4,460,199.
