Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has begun developing a park and an outdoor gym near the STELCO flats in Hulhumale' Phase 2.
HDC said that the park and outdoor gym are being built in the highly populated area to promote healthy and active lifestyles.
The park and gym are being developed in the empty plot of land behind STELCO flats' A-Block.
While work is ongoing, HDC has not yet said when the project is expected to reach completion.
The lack of parks and open spaces in Hulhumale' Phase 2 is a persistent concern of residents.
Recently, a park was opened in the empty land between Hiyaa Towers H11 and H12. A gym park has also been opened in front of Hiyaa Tower H14.
