A foreign national has been arrested for allegedly smuggling drugs into Addu by air.
Police said Saldin Walimohmad Ruppin, 58, an Indian national, was arrested at Gan International Airport last Tuesday.
He was initially detained by customs officers and later handed over to police under a court order.
Authorities said the suspect is accused of smuggling around 2 kg of drugs into the country.
Further details have not been disclosed as the investigation is ongoing.
