The Maldives government has condemned recent attacks targeting energy infrastructure in the Middle East, warning of risks to regional stability and global energy security.

In a statement, the government criticized Israeli strikes on energy facilities linked to Iran’s South Pars gas field, describing them as a violation of international law and a threat to stability.

The Maldives also condemned Iran’s attacks on commercial and energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait.

It said such attacks on critical infrastructure undermine regional security and highlighted the need to protect key facilities, including oil installations, desalination plants and airports.

The government reiterated its call on the international community to intensify diplomatic efforts, including securing an immediate ceasefire to restore peace, stability and security in the region.
