Two Indian nationals remain missing after a speedboat capsized near Felidhoo in Vaavu atoll on Thursday night, police said.

The vessel was carrying seven people: five Indian men, a British woman and a Russian woman.

Police said five people fell into the sea when the speedboat overturned. The two who remain missing are both Indian nationals.

A police media official told Mihaaru News that search operations are ongoing, but the missing individuals have not yet been found.

One of those missing has been identified as Hari Singh, an Indian motorsports figure.

Indian businessman Gautam Singhania, chairman of the Raymond Group, was also on board the speedboat. The vessel had been used to transfer passengers to his yacht, TT Ashena. Sources said Singhania is currently in Mumbai.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) continues to search for the missing men. According to sources, the speedboat capsized while travelling at high speed.
