The dialysis extension and the new emergency room building at the Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital were inaugurated today.
First Lady Saajidha Mohamed inaugurated the two buildings during a ceremony held at the hospital.
In addition to these facilities, work on the hospital’s isolation facility also commenced today. The foundation stone was laid by Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim.
The President’s Office stated that under the policy of expanding and developing health services in the islands, Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital is one of the locations being developed by the government to a tertiary level.
The newly opened dialysis extension building will allow nine people to undergo dialysis simultaneously. Additionally, services have been expanded in the new emergency room with 6 beds.
The President’s Office also stated that the isolation facility would bring further progress to the health sector in the north. The facility will include private rooms, an 800-capacity auditorium, as well as a convertible quarantine facility.
