Fasuha, Saaid, Auha, and Yoonus Wins Athletics Championship

Hassan Saaid, Fasuha Ahmed, Mohamed Yoonus bin Hussain Bin Ibrahim, and Aminath Auha Abdul Rahman were honored as the outstanding athletes of the 11th Athletics Association Championship, held from Tuesday to Friday at the Malé Ekuveni Synthetic Track.

Hassan Saaid, Fasuha Ahmed, Mohamed Yoonus bin Hussain Bin Ibrahim, and Aminath Auha Abdul Rahman were honored as the outstanding athletes of the 11th Athletics Association Championship, held from Tuesday to Friday at the Malé Ekuveni Synthetic Track.

Saaid, representing the MNDF Club, and Fasuha, from the Track and Field Association, secured the top positions in the 15-plus category.

Saaid claimed gold medals in the 200m and 100m events. Saaid was also part of the MNDF Club team that finished first in the 4x100m relay.

In the 200m race final heat, Saaid finished first with a time of 22.05 seconds. He completed the 100m final heat with a timing of 10.65 seconds. In both events, Ahmed Najdan Abdulla of Saaid Sports secured the second position, while Ibrahim Nahil Nizar of MNDF Club finished third.

The final heat of the relay was completed by the MNDF Club in 43.47 seconds. Saaid Sports, who clocked 45.30 seconds, and Shareef Sports, who clocked 46.42 seconds, came second.

Fasuha, who marked significant growth in 2023 and became the number one female athlete at the Grand Prix, has won gold medals in three events. She finished first in the 800m, 1,500m and 5,000m.

She finished first in the women's 800m race with a timing of 2 minutes 22.94 seconds. She won the 1,500m event with a timing of 5 minutes 22.26 seconds. In both the events, Zeek Ashraf Rasheed of the Track and Field Association finished second. Aishath Binti Ahmed of Zifius finished third.

In the 5,000m event, Fasuha finished first with a timing of 22 minutes 23.15 seconds. Aishath finished second in the event while Zeek finished third.In the 5,000m event, Fasuha finished first with a timing of 22 minutes 23.15 seconds. Aishath finished second in the event while Zeek finished third.

Auha of Shareef Sports, who won the best female under-15 athlete, won gold medals in the 100m, 200m and long jump. Mohamed Yoonus of Addu Athletics, who won the title of the first male under-15 athlete, won gold medals in the 400m and 80m hurdles and silver in triple jump.
