Maldives' Yameen serves as Umpire of TT World Final

Maldives' Mohamed Yameen has served as umpire of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF)'s World Table Tennis Championship finals.

Yameen was umpire of the Women's Doubles Final in the world's largest table tennis championship which concluded in Doha, Qatar yesterday.

This is the first time that a Maldives' TT Umpire has served as umpire in an ITTF event final.

TT Association of Maldives described this as a historic success for Maldives.

Last year, Yameen acheived ITTF's Blue Badge and became the first Maldives' umpire to receive the honour. This is the second level of TT Umpires.

Yameen has previously served as umpire in many matches in South Asia and Asia. He has also done the same in the Islamic Solidarity Games and Indian Ocean Island Games.
