Four seasoned coaches submit applications to lead Under-17 team

Four experienced coaches have submitted applications to lead the National Under-17 Football Team.

Four experienced coaches have submitted applications to lead the National Under-17 Football Team.

One of the conditions that applicants need to meet is holding an AFC A License.

Applicants include two coaches who were amongst the participants of the first A License course in Maldives, Ahmed Nashid (Naadhu) and Mohamed Shahid (Shaad).

The other two applicants are Sobah Mohamed Rasheed (Sobah), who completed the A License Coaching Course last year, and Fareed Mohamed (Faritte').

Sobah most recently worked with New Radiant. New Radiant, under his coaching, competed in the League Cup held by FAM in April.

FAM is seeking a full-time coach for the Under-17 team.

Some of the requirements for the post are:

- A minimum of five years' experience in youth football or club level

- Knowledge of implementing age appropriate trainings and technical strategies

- Ability to identify talent and scout players for the Under-17 team

FAM's announcement also said that the selected coach must be able to work alongside FAM's technical department and other national team coaches.

All four applicants have worked in various capacities in national teams.

Shaad has worked with both the Under-23 team and senior team. Naadhu has worked with the National Women's Team, as well as teams of various age categories. He has also worked with first division teams Victory, Valencia, Super United Sports and The Grande.

Sobah has also served an as Assistant Coach, under Coach Ali Suzain, for the Under-23 team.

Fareed, who even at present works in development football, has previously served as Assistant Coach of the Under-19 team. He is now the Head Coach of Odi Sports Academy.
