Diamond Jubilee Committee (DJC) Chairperson Ali Suzain has said that all national football players of the last 46 years will see their service and efforts to the sport recognized, with players both well-known and under-the-radar being recognized as well.

FAM handed the responsibility of Maldivian football's Diamond Jubilee celebrations to a committee containing Suzain, New Radiant Chairman Ahmed Mubeen, Valencia Chairperson and famed football commentator Abdulla Azmeen and Dhidhdhoo Parliament Member Abdul Latheef Mohamed.

Suzain has said that the celebration will include 75 various activities.

One of these is the recognition of past national football players.

The first Maldivian national football team was introduced in 1979. Their first time competing was in the Indian Ocean Island Games.

Suzain said that every single player from the inception of the national team till now, will have their services and efforts recognized.

"FAM will award with memorabilia marking 75 years of Maldivian national football to all national players throughout the years," said Suzain.

"This is a guarantee. No national player will be excluded in this celebration."

Suzain went on to say that every national team captain will also receive recognition. The FAM ExCo gave a period of one year to the DJC to function, which will come to an end by the end of August next year.

He says that they will conduct the Diamond Jubilee celebration in line with their budget across Male' and other islands.
