Rafa ends Dheema's record and wins national tournament

Aishath Rafa Nazim, who has participated 6 years in a row, has been crowned the 1st Division Women’s Singles Champion at the 63rd National Table Tennis Tournament 2025 after claiming victory against Fathimath Dheema Ali.

Prior to this, Rafa has won the tournament twice. In 2019, Dheema beat Rafa and claimed the title of champion.

The last five years saw Dheema beat Rafa to claim the title. The tournament was not held in 2020 due to Covid-19.

Rafa played four games in the final to be crowned victor.

This is the first time Rafa has beaten Dheema in a competitive setting.

Dheema claimed victory in the Under-19 category by defeating Mishka Mohamed Ibrahim. She has also claimed victory in the Women's Doubles category.

Dheema was paired with Mishka in the Mixed Doubles category, defeating Rafa and Minha Mahjoob Shujau.

Rafa was paired with Moosa Munsif Ahmed and went on to secure the title for the 1st Division Mix Doubles after defeating paired players Dheema and Mohamed Shaffan Ismail.
