Shaffan reclaims national table tennis championship title

Mohamed Shaffan Ismail has reclaimed the national table tennis title after missing last year’s tournament while training in New Delhi.

Shaffan, who had won the championship in the two previous years, defeated veteran Moosa Munsif in the final.

Munsif took the opening game, but Shaffan secured a 4–1 victory.

While he regained the singles championship, Shaffan fell short in the doubles event.

Shaffan and Ibrahim Auzam Azim lost the men’s doubles final to Munsif and Mohamed Zeest Naseem. In the mixed doubles, Shaffan and Dheema were beaten by Munsif and Aishath Rafa Nazim.
