First atoll AFC B License Coaching Course held in Dhuvaafaru

The first AFC B License Coaching Course to be held outside of Male' has been held at R. Dhuvaafaru. 

The course was conducted by the Sports Education Institute (MNIS) run by FAM and Sports Ministry, in collaboration with TC Sports. 

The sessions at the course were conducted by Shazly Mohamed (Shaz), who was the first in Maldives to receive accreditation to teach AFC B License Coaching Course. 

FAM and Sports Ministry has previously held AFC D and C License Coaching Courses in various islands in collaboration with island councils. 

However, this is the first time that the AFC B License Coaching Course has been held outside of Male'. 

The first time that an AFC Coaching Course was held outside of Male' was when former FAM Technical Director, Malaysia's Lim Kim Chong, organized an AFC C License Coaching Course in Fuvahmulah a few years ago. 

Former National Team Manager Mohamed Easa (Mo) was amongst those who took the lead to organize the course in Dhuvaafaru. 

Dhuvaafaru has also previously seen AFC D and C License Coaching Courses held on the island. Coaches from Indian and Pakistan also participated in the course held this time. 

The course began with 16 participants, with 11 having completed it. Coaches from R. Dhuvaafaru, R. Alifushi, R. Meedhoo, HDh. Neykurandhoo, Lh. Naifaru, L. Gan and GDh. Hoadehdhoo also joined the course. 

According to Esa, courses to train futsal referees and match commissioners have also been previously held in Dhuvaafaru. 

The island is also set to see the Youth Atoll Championship this month. Five atolls will be competing in this: Shaviyani, Noonu, Raa, Baa and Lhaviyani.
