Ari Uthuru Sports Festival see Thoddoo as football champion

Thoddoo has claimed the football title by beating Bodufulhadhoo at the Ari Uthuru Sports Festival (AUSF), subsequently earning their spot in the Gold Cup. As per the agreement between Ninety Plus and the Alif Alif Atoll Council, the team to become the football champions at the AUSF will earn their spot in the Gold Cup.

Thoddoo has claimed the football title by beating Bodufulhadhoo at the Ari Uthuru Sports Festival (AUSF), subsequently earning their spot in the Gold Cup. The festival was organized by the Alif Alif Atoll Council.

As per the agreement between Ninety Plus and the Alif Alif Atoll Council, the team to become the football champions at the AUSF will earn their spot in the Gold Cup.

Ninety Plus decided on a 28 team format for this year's Gold Cup. 18 of those teams will be decided via qualifying rounds within 18 atolls.

Along with claiming their spot in the Gold Cup, Thoddoo won a trophy, as well as an MVR 50,000 cash prize.

Two teams from two atolls have qualified for the Gold Cup, with them being Thoddoo and L. Gan.

The Alif Alif Atoll Council organized a handball tournament for the Women's Division of the AUSF. Rasdhoo was crowned the handball champion after battling against Ukulhas with a scoreline of 13-11.

Out of the other 18 spots in the Gold Cup, 8 of those were automatically filled with the top 8 teams from last year's tournament. The 8 teams are:

  1. Champion B. Eydhafushi.
  2. Runner-Up Addu.
  3. Semi-finalists Male' and R. Alifushi.
  4. Fuvahmulah.
  5. K. Guraidhoo.
  6. Lh. Naifaru.
  7. K. Maafushi.

The final two slots are reserved for Kluhudhuffushi City and Thinadhoo City of which the spots were claimed via an invitation basis.
