Maziya Sports and Recreation Club started the second round of the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League with a victory, while their women's team achieved a massive win in the FAM Women's Football League, proving their strength in both Henveiru and Galolhu stadiums today.

In the men's Premier League match played this afternoon at the Galolhu Stadium, Maziya defeated Green Streets with a score of 2-1. Green Streets took the initial lead just before the end of the first half, with their captain Rilwan Waheed scoring from a beautifully placed free-kick in the second minute of added time, sending the ball directly into the far corner of the goal, leaving Maziya's goalkeeper Iyan Abdul Aleem helpless.

Green Streets ended the first half with a satisfying lead.

The second half, however, was marked by Maziya's urgency, as they are determined to maintain their winning streak this season. Maziya's momentum was driven by Sergio Mendigutxia Iglesias. He scored Maziya's equalizer in the 68th minute by converting a cross from Haisham Hassan (Bidi).

Mendigutxia, who is currently the top scorer in the league, showed his focus by rushing back to his own half immediately after scoring, signaling his team to restart play quickly. He then secured Maziya's victory by scoring his 11th league goal in the third minute of added time of the second half, converting a corner kick delivered by Ahmed Aiham (Fatho).

With this late lead, Maziya is currently in first place in the league with 30 points.

Today was also a triumphant afternoon for the Maziya women's team at the Henveiru Stadium, where they secured a dominant 10-0 victory against TC Sports in the FAM Women's Football League.
