Buru Sports climbed to fourth place in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League after a dominant 9–0 win over United Victory (UV) yesterday.

UV faced a difficult match, finishing with two red cards. The first dismissal came when team official Fareez was sent off from the bench, while UV were reduced to ten men in the 77th minute after Ibrahim Imran was shown a red card.

The red card followed a collision involving UV goalkeeper Hassan Aleef Ibrahim, who has been the club’s first-choice goalkeeper since Mohamed Faisal left to join New Radiant after scoring a goal earlier in the season. As Aleef attempted to release the ball, Imran tackled him, prompting referee Adam Fazeel to give him a red card.

Buru Sports had already sealed the match long before UV were reduced to ten men, scoring seven goals in the first half alone.

Brazilian forward Hudson Dias was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick and scored a total of four goals. Senegalese midfielder Diawandou Diagne netted twice, opening the scoring in the sixth minute.

The remaining goals came from Mohamed Naeem, Areen Abdulla Ibrahim, and experienced defender Ahmed Abdulla (Lily).

With the win, Buru Sports now have 17 points from 10 matches, having won six games this season. United Victory remain seventh, with seven points from 10 matches.
