Maldives joins CAVA Women's League with WAMCO, Huraa

Maldives will be represented by WAMCO and Huraa in the CAVA Women's League, set to begin at the Social Centre in Male' tomorrow.

Maldives will be represented by WAMCO and Huraa in the CAVA Women's League, set to begin at the Social Centre in Male' tomorrow. 

Besides Huraa CC ad WAMCO, the league features seven other teams, split into two groups.

Group A includes WAMCO, Sri Lanka's Hirdaramani Sports Club and Kazakhstan's Turan Volleyball Club.

Group B includes Huraa CC, Nepal's Police Club, Uzbekistan's Humo Volleyball Club and Iran's Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan. 

In last year's VAM Cup finals, WAMCO defeated Police Club and won the trophy for the fifth consecutive time. They later lost to Police Club and lost the National League, yet emerged champions of the National Championship through once again beating Police Club and lining their fourth consecutive win. 

WAMCO also won the bronze medal for Maldives in the 2024 CAVA Women's Volleyball Club Championship held in Maldives. 

Huraa CC won third place in last year's VAM Cup, National League and National Championship. They started the season in VAM Cup's preliminary round. 

CAVA Women's League will be held over seven days, with the final match scheduled for Tuesday next week.
